PRESS KIT

Promotional tools, booking info and more

Welcome to our EPK

Before you dig into the “official” Press Kit where you’ll find most everything you need to promote us, we wanted to share this personal message.

We are musicians, singers, songwriters, performers, and generally lucky people with a lot on our minds that we frequently share in song. We perform locally in our home state of Michigan on a regular basis and have toured nationally from California to Maine. We’ve released 9 self-produced recordings since 1999 and remain open to growth and the inevitable evolution of our art, observing and absorbing the inspirations all around us in our everyday lives. We aim to always give our whole heart and soul along with 110% of our energy so everyone who has made the choice to attend one of our shows leaves feeling uplifted, maybe with a newly provoked thought or lingering chuckle, and truly glad they came.

“They’ll captivate you with their witty lyrics, impress you with their musicianship, and entertain you till the cows come home!” – Paul Doss, Doss Barn Concerts, Evansville, IL

“There is no doubt that everyone on the stage is a gifted musician. Every chord, every note, every lyric turning traditional folk music on its head. Transforming the ordinary into the sublime. ” Chuck Marshall, Life in Michigan

“Infectious, impeccable, engaging” – David Tamulevich, Tamulevich Artist Management

Songs about broken things and poignant little ponderings delivered with a rootsy vibe, a touch of twang and a soulful groove.

The Short(ish) Bio

Poignant and playful, effortless and endearing, Annie & Rod Capps’ sound meets at the intersection of Americana & Folk. Like many singer/songwriters whose instrumentation is primarily acoustic the word “folk” covers a broad sonic range of genres and influences – what comes out is a rootsy vibe, touch of twang and soulful groove. Since 2006, Jason Dennie, has been contributing to their arrangements with his wildly creative mandolin and instinctive harmony. In 2014, Dan Ozzie Andrews joined the band, bringing with him a degree in jazz bass and vast experience in all musical styles he joyfully adds the rock solid and creative low-end.

Their distinctive take on Americana/Folk highlights exceptional musicianship and inventive arrangements that support layered, insightful, songwriting (earning 2 Kerrville New Folk Finalist Awards) through dynamic, playful performances inviting laughter, reflection, and meaningful connections.

From house concerts to festival stages, the Capps have become known for their ability to create an intimate and engaging atmosphere that resonates with authenticity, earning them new fans every where they go.
